I build systems that make complex decisions clearer.

My work sits where product, data, security, and operations meet.

I look for the structure inside ambiguous problems.

I put security, evidence, and ownership into the system early.

I stay close enough to implementation to see what survives contact with reality.

A little more context.

Richard McKinney

I attended 11 schools and spent part of my childhood in foster care. At 18, I became my younger brother’s legal guardian.

I completed 3 majors at Pitzer in 3 years, then spent 27 months in Jordan. I learned Arabic and made roughly 180 home visits with Iraqi, Sudanese, and Syrian families.

I’ve run marathons in San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Seattle, and Yellowknife; completed a 10-day silent meditation retreat in Israel; bungee jumped south of Mount St. Helens; and skydived over Wadi Rum. Home is the Pacific Northwest with my wife.

Where have I been?

The criterion for a pin: I ate at least 1 meal there.
